Market and Keyword research services

Analyzing market and competitors

The most important element in ranking your website is to make sure you are targeting the people who need your product or service.

To do that you need to rank for the right keywords. The right keyword will bring visitors who are looking for exactly what you have. You have to figure out who your target market is, what they are searching for, what keywords they will use to find it. Then you have to get them to your site and keep them there.

So, who is your target market and what are they looking for? If you design a website you think will attract clients, but you aren’t really sure who your customers are or what they need instead of what you think they want; it is unlikely your website will be successful.

Keyword research consists of the following three (3) important steps:

  • Finding as many keywords as possible relating to your Web site. We’ll discuss some online tools to help speed up your research process. Tools that will allow you to search for related keywords and show you the relative search popularity.
  • Finding the most targeted keywords for your website. The most generic keywords are the most widely searched (for example: dog collars) and they are the most competitive. These keywords are so generic they often bring mediocre conversion rates because they are not targeted to your specific audience (for example: martingale dog collars). Generally, phrases that can most accurately describe specific components of your website will give you a higher return on investment (ROI).
  • Analyzing market (and your) competitors for potential keywords. Checking out what your market’s competitors are using as keywords will give you an idea of how competitive your market it, where your competitors are focusing their attention and give you ideas on where you can jump ahead by focusing on different (yet similar) keywords they missed.

Search Engine Marketing Services

The sooner your website is optimized for Google, the faster you’ll stop losing potential buyers.

Search Engine Marketing or or SEM, refers to the specific modifications and additions made online to help make it stand out and get better popularity votes and recognition from search engines, primarily Google.

The bottom line is we all want lots of visitors coming to our websites and buying our products, filling out forms or doing whatever our Call To Action may be. The most popular way to be found is through search engines. Over the years they have become the most popular gateway between websites and the hordes of hungry consumers searching for everything from clothing to cheap plane tickets; from medical advice to chewing gum. We are all very familiar with the great success of Google in this area and while there are other search engines, Google is the Big Dog and the search engine most consumers go to when they need information.

The sooner your website is optimized for Google, the faster you’ll stop losing potential buyers. This chart below shows how important your search engine ranking is. The percentages indicate visitors clicking on links 1 through 10 on Page One.

Less than 25 percent of Google searchers will click on any of the links beyond the first page. If you aren’t in the top 10 listings, your competitors who are on Page 1 will get the customers who are looking for you.

Content Writing Services

Great content is quality content

Good content is the key to a successful website in search engine rankings – especially after all the changes Google has been doing to their algorithm.

Just following the on-page optimization rules with mediocre content or with sparse content will not get you the high rankings you are looking for – particularly if your niche is a highly competitive niche.

It is true that Google has adopted Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) to recognize relationship between words and key-phrases. And it is also true that keyword density matters, especially when you first put up your website. But eventually it will lose its value and importance to be replaced with offsite factors.

Post Panda, Google ranks content on how visitors respond to that content. If a website visitor likes the content and spends time on the page, clicks on more links on the site, shares the content with their friends, or leaves a comment, then Google says that this website is valuable and will rank it higher than sites who have a high abandon rate.

Your content needs to be geared for the visitors you want at your site. This is where the research you did earlier on demographics and psychographics comes in really handy. You want your site to rank well for your keywords so you’ve been taught to repeat it a few times in each page/post, but keeping people on your site is important to your overall rankings as well.

So, as far as Great Content is concerned:

  • Focus on your visitor first
  • Then focus on what search engines want
  • Fall back on your demographics & psychographics to determine what your visitors want and then give it to them
  • Articles should be a minimum of 800-1000 words and should be quality, engaging content.

The simple rule of thumb is that content counts, and that content near the top of a page counts for more than content at the end. In particular, the HTML title and the first couple lines of text are the most important part of your pages. If the words and phrases that match a query happen to appear in the HTML title or first couple lines of text of one of your pages, chances are very good that that page will appear high in the list of search results.

Without quality content, nothing else matters. You could build thousands of links, and if the content is not there, your customers won’t find you, visitors won’t stick around and the search engines will write your site off as another worthless website.

Now your website can help you
